Secondary School Mentorship Program

YESI’s career guidance and role modelling model is a unique initiative that recognizes the power of relatability and community connections in inspiring secondary school students. In this model, YESI recruits college students from the very communities they serve to become mentors and role models for younger students. These college students, who have successfully navigated the educational journey and are pursuing their career paths, hold talks and interactive sessions in local secondary schools. Through sharing their personal experiences, challenges, and achievements, these college mentors inspire and motivate students, providing them with valuable insights into different career options and the possibilities that lie ahead. By leveraging the relatability and community ties of the college mentors, YESI’s career guidance and role modelling model creates a powerful and impactful platform for students to dream big, set goals, and embark on their paths to success.

These sessions offer students invaluable insights into different career paths, including the skills and qualifications required, as well as the abundant opportunities available in each field. By participating in these career talks, students can make informed decisions about their future career choices and gain a better understanding of the potential pathways they can explore. The program provides students with exposure to successful individuals and valuable knowledge, fostering their personal and professional development and guiding them towards fulfilling and rewarding careers.

Academic Mentorship:

We understand the importance of academic assistance, guidance, and encouragement in helping students thrive. That’s why we connect students with experienced educators or senior students who serve as mentors and role models. During these sessions, our mentors work closely with students, offering academic support tailored to their individual needs. We aim to improve their study habits, enhance their time management skills, and ultimately boost their academic performance. Our mentors provide guidance on various subjects, assist with homework and assignments, and share effective study techniques and exam preparation strategies. We also prioritize fostering a positive and motivating environment, empowering students to overcome challenges and achieve their full academic potential. Through our mentoring sessions, we aim to equip students with valuable insights, develop critical skills, and build their confidence, ultimately setting them on a path towards success in their educational journey.
